Leave of Absence
Holidays During Term Time
In accordance with Government guidelines, we strongly discourage parents from taking children out of school for holidays during term time. Any parent wishing to request leave for a holiday must complete a Holiday Request Form, available from the School Office.
Each request will be carefully reviewed by the Headteacher and will only be authorised under exceptional circumstances.
Please be aware that any unauthorised absences must be referred to the Local Authority, which may result in a penalty notice being issued.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in prioritising your child’s education.
Illnesses
Although we strive to provide the best care possible, the school does not have a designated quiet space for children to rest comfortably during the day. If we suspect a child is unwell, we will contact parents to arrange for their collection.
For cases of sickness or diarrhoea, please ensure your child remains at home for 48 hours after the last episode to prevent the spread of illness.
Below is a table with recommended exclusion periods for various illnesses to help guide you in deciding when it is safe for your child to return to school.

Medicines in School
Our policy allows the administration of medication prescribed by a doctor when the dosage is required during school hours or for conditions such as asthma that necessitate daily or occasional medication.
All medication must be brought to the School Office, where you will be required to complete a consent form authorising the school to administer it.
Appointments
Whenever possible, please arrange medical, dental, optician appointments at the end of the school days or in the holidays, for routine appointments. If an appointment is made during the school day your child should come into school before it and return to school after their appointment.
